American businessman sets out ambitious plans for the club

Coleman: 'I'm here to succeed or go down trying'

Swansea City have named Andy Coleman as their new chairman, with the American businessman pledging to do everything in his power to help the club achieve success.

"I'm here to succeed or go down trying," Coleman said. "I'm not going to make any promises I can't keep, but I can assure you that I will be working tirelessly to help this club reach its full potential."

Coleman, who has a background in investment and finance, has been a minority shareholder in Swansea City since 2016. He has now taken over the role of chairman from Trevor Birch, who has stepped down after six years in the post.

Coleman has set out a number of ambitious plans for Swansea City, including increasing investment in the squad, improving the club's infrastructure and developing a new stadium.

"I believe that Swansea City has the potential to be a top-flight club," Coleman said. "We have a great history, a passionate fan base and a talented squad. I'm confident that we can achieve great things together."

Coleman's appointment has been welcomed by Swansea City manager Steve Cooper, who said: "I'm delighted to have Andy on board. He is a very ambitious and driven individual, and I'm sure he will be a great asset to the club."
