Bronny James Makes College Basketball Debut at USC
Son of NBA Legend LeBron James Takes the Court
High School Recruit Earns Starting Position
Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA legend LeBron James, made his highly anticipated college debut on Sunday at the University of Southern California (USC). The 18-year-old guard started the game for the Trojans against the University of San Diego and played 14 minutes.
James, a consensus four-star recruit, committed to USC in May 2023. He chose the Trojans over other major programs, including Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina. In his senior season at Sierra Canyon High School, James averaged 17.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game.
James's college debut was a solid one, albeit unspectacular. He scored four points, dished out three assists, and grabbed two rebounds. However, he also committed three turnovers and shot just 1-for-6 from the field.
Despite his modest performance, James showed flashes of his potential. He made several impressive passes, including a no-look alley-oop to Isaiah Collier in the first half. He also played solid defense, guarding his man closely and forcing a turnover.
James's college career is still in its early stages, but he has the talent and pedigree to become a star at the next level. He is surrounded by a talented team at USC, and with the guidance of head coach Andy Enfield, James has the opportunity to develop into one of the best players in college basketball.
