Man Overboard from Carnival Cruise Ship
Coast Guard Suspends Search
35-Year-Old Passenger Presumed Dead
The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a 35-year-old man who went overboard from a Carnival cruise ship on Monday. The man, Ronnie Peale Jr., was last seen falling from the Carnival Magic ship, which was traveling off the coast of Florida.
Peale's partner reported him missing on Monday night. The Coast Guard launched a search and rescue operation, but it was suspended on Wednesday night after no sign of Peale was found. The Coast Guard has said that it is presumed that Peale is dead.
The Carnival Magic was on a five-day cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Bahamas. The ship is currently docked in Nassau, Bahamas.
Carnival Cruise Line has expressed its condolences to Peale's family and friends. The company said that it is cooperating with the Coast Guard's investigation into the incident.
